KNOWLEDGE THE ONLY WAY
TO THE TRUTH

Let us be enlightened and learned to be familiar with God, love Him, fear
Him and submit only to Him
Capable to show gratitude, capable to interact while abiding syariah, all for our own safety
Let us not be among those enlightened and intelligent, proud and arrogant
Pride and arrogance belong to the shaytan
Why do we make knowledge and intelligence as the trap for shaytan
Let us not use our knowledge and intelligence for the purpose our own needs
Why do we turn knowledge into a cheap commodity
Knowledge is priceless for mankind
Being alive searching only for own needs, searching for food, a character similar to the animals
Why do we as knowledgeable and intelligent beings degrade ourselves to the level of uneducated and unintelligent animalsKnowledge is for the search of the truth
The truth is priceless, only knowledge will show the truth
Knowledge is the light, shining along the path of life towards
Hereafter for our safety
If knowledge is for mere pride and for the mere search for foodanimals that do not go to any schools are intelligent enough to seek for food
The term searching for food really degrades the honour among mankind
Especially for those knowledgeable and intelligent, their honour tarnished

THE LIVES OF THE PROPHET'S COMPANIONS

When the Prophet's Companions meet each other
the world affairs were not their topic of conversation
They would not discuss things relating to diet, home or attires
except anything related to their other companions facing hardships
in order for other companions to have sympathy and provide assistance
During any meeting amongst the Companions
they would discuss weaknesses between one another
for awareness and improvement
Enquiring news about Rasulullah, his family and his condition
especially to find out if any new revelation has been delivered
any new enlightenment or wisdom received from him let us know,
we can share together
Everytime the Companions meet
they would discuss what other good deeds to be achieved
If there's nothing important to discuss, they would rather keep silent
Somehow, they would not discuss or talk about worldly matters
never cross their mind to talk bad about others
If many of the Companions were to be inside a mosque
those passers-by would have thought the mosque was empty
as there was complete silence
Probably there would be someone reciting the Al Quran,
but the Companions would not raise their voice to avoid
disturbing others, unlike the current situation
Those inside the mosque were truly humble, righteous and devoted
concentrating and accumulating their solat, zikir, tasbih and selawat
reading the Al Quran, contemplating (tafakur),
unable to find the time to discuss worldly matters
Everyone with their own individual thoughts
Stillness, tranquility and silence
Others thought there's no one in the mosque
The Companions truly observed the sacredness and purity of the mosque

YA RASULULLAH, YOU BROUGHT LOVE AND AFFECTION

Ya Rasulullah, you brought love and affection
Those in the wrong you've forgiven
You prayed for your opponents to be given the light
Your heart so pure with no vengeance

Allahummasalliala saiyidina Muhammad

The poor and needy earned your full compassion
You love them so, you provided them assistance
The orphans and widows, you provided them protection
They were always included in your interactions

Allahummasalliala saiyidina Muhammad

Ya Rasulullah, your respect for the neighbours was admirable
Habitually sharing your meal with them
Their wrong doings forgiven willingly
Your neighbours felt so at ease with you

Allahummasalliala saiyidina Muhammad

Among friends you're very faithful
Their needs had your full attention
In fact, their needs had your immediate attention before yours
Your friends humbled and respected you dearly

Allahummasalliala saiyidina Muhammad

Calling on the sick, your favourite visitsattending their funeral, avocation
You're so earnest, so devout
Even your enemies conceded to your kindness

Love and Care
Every soul yearns for love and care
It's a natural phenomena
Wanting a harmonious life
This is the ultimate happiness
Each soul seeks tender care
Longing for protection and respect
Human rights shouldn't be disregarded
Transgressors must face justice
Compromise and understandingAre pillars of good living
Good reasons and cooperation help endure
A blessed life of togetherness
Where, O where on Earth can this be found?
Where, O where on Earth can this be seen?
Mankind is crumbling down
Hope and trust is dissarrayed
By the dark forces of evil desire
Everywhere we see crisis and destruction
War, loss of wealth and life's oblivion
The poor and the lost gets no attention
The rich, the superpower terrorise
O God, you're our only hope
The Ultimate Protector and Saviour
You're the Solver of life's absolution

And know, may the mercy of God be upon you, that this is essential to the seeker: The path to the Hereafter lies in the union of three things and no abeyance in matters pertaining to it. And these are the Law [ash-Shari’ah], the Path [at-Tariqah] and the Divine Truth [al-Haqqah]. Foremost, the Law is mandatory for those bound by it. He, who acts in accordance with the Law, will be facilitated for him, with God’s assistance, the entrance into the doors of perseverance [al-Mujahadah] which is the Path. And he, who acts in accordance with the Path, will be made manifest for him the light of Divine Truth.

SOLAT OR A MERE PHYSICAL EXERCISE

Do we simply bow down our physical body during rukuk in our solat
Yet our spirits are not doing the same
If it is solely a physical manifestation, the rukuk is not perceived
Our rukuk does not mean anything
During our prostration (sujud)
Do we put our soul in the similar position?
Physical parts do not have any sensations
It is simply an exercise indicating we are doing a physical activity
If our hearts are not taking part in the sujud

While we are standing upright in our solat, do we feel as if we are standing in front of God just anyhow
Sensing that is God looking, knowing, listening and having the power over you
At that instance we should be conscious of Him
Till we are engrossed with Him both hearts and minds, no other things in mind
At that instance God's Greatness is the only feeling dominating
If there are no internal feelings about God during our standing position
Why do we stand?
What is the purpose of standing?
As if it is just a standing positionStanding upright without any reason
If this has been the way we perform our solat
It means that we have been doing a physical exercise, physical activity in the form of solat
The reason why solat bringing no changes to the character
Similar to those who do not pray
The fact is we have not performed our solat

AT-TAQWA
DO WE REALLY KNOW WHAT IT MEANS?

Majority of us do not fully understand the term TAQWA as it has never been taught. The word taqwa is often mentioned but we have not been exposed to the essence or knowledge of taqwa, we have not been shown the ways to achieve taqwa in life. The prerequisite conditions and the pillars of taqwa are never mentioned. Majority have a lackasaidal attitudes to the term taqwa and to some, the term taqwa bears no importance in life due to their lack of understanding.
With lack of understanding, we could not be a person of taqwa even though we are commanded to do so.
"Ittaqullah - have taqwa for Allah" has been said but majority do not possess the said attribute. The command for taqwa is mentioned at every sermon during the Friday prayers, meant for the whole congregation and every Muslim. It is a prerequisite for the sermon, otherwise the Friday prayers will be invalid even though the prayer was performed with full concentration(khusyuk). The word taqwa is frequently mentioned, however, most do not understand. It does not turn into knowledge, it is not converted into practice and belief, what more to integrate it into an essence or feelings. As such, how could we turn ourselves into people of taqwa.

Taqwa is not simply performing the commands and abandoning the forbidden. It is not simply accomplishing obedience and avoiding immorality. It is not simply staying away from what is forbidden (haram) and fulfilling the obligatory duties (fardh). It is not simply avoiding the shirik by executing the religious duties and being obedient to Allah. It is not simply keeping away from all those things which could make us neglect Allah. It is not simply limiting to the permissible (halal) and it is not simply performing duties for a mere obedience to Allah.

This has been the analysis and understanding of taqwa brought upon us by majority of the Muslim scholars including the ustazs, the muallims, the Hafaz of the Quran and Hadis, in fact the muftis and kadhis as well. Taqwa has been simplified, to the majority, taqwa is unimportant. To strive for taqwa to achieve security in this world and the Hereafter seems unnecessary. We need to understand that taqwa has a deeper and wider interpretation and it is one of the most important principles of the religion.

Those performing the commands and staying away from the forbidden or those accomplishing obedience, avoiding immorality may not be on the basis of taqwa. Their obedience could be for other motives such as for monetary benefits, for praise from others, for social influences or winning the hearts of people. Their avoidance of the forbidden, possibly for other reasons as well such as earning respect, upholding their name and position in the society, fear of punishment, slander, humiliation or they fear that they will be ostracized.

SIGNS OF DISPLEASURE FROM GOD

When Allah is enraged with anyone
The person usually disremember his misdeeds
Transgressing sins with no concern
Outsizing the little good deed
To perform a good deed is a monumental task
When in the wrong, no obvious remorse displayed
Even if recalled, it would not matter for him as to him Allah is Most Forgiving
Immorality, godliness is not an issue
Insensitivity displayed in his words, attitudes and actions all are self centred
When pointed out why things should not be the way they are
Refutation is always in hands
A refute to defend himself, not to act upon
Unbothered with his syariah as the days go by
His family members left to fend for themselves
Home is no more a place to provide guidance and tarbiyah for the family
But seems to be diligent in motivating others away from home
Others may think he's a determined fighter
Family left unguided with no directions to follow
This signifies he's a motivator with self interests
Not for religious enlightenment or acceptance from God

“…To strive the Truth, the first and the main aim is striving for God, until He is known, adored, praised, feared, loved and this feeling exist in everyday living of a human being. Thank You God

Thank you, O my God
Who is always showering His Grace (Rahmah)
Allowing me to face You, O God
Which is the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful
To communicate with You, O God
To allow me to ask from You
To sing words of admiration and praises, with all my heart
To ask, appealing (munajat) to You, ya Rabbi [O Lord]
But I am anxious when facing You
Not being able to observe the appropriate ways with You
I am beginning to be worried should I become
Treacherous while being obedient
It is not Your Rahmat from You that I receive
But I will get only Your wrath

Ya Rabbal Alamin [O Lord of the Worlds]
Please forgive me.

TIME, MY LOYAL COMPANION

Time, my loyal companion
Time, my age or lifetime
Time accompanying me everywhere
During my times of relaxation, during my journey,
even during my sleep, time is with me
Time has never been apart from me
Time is very loyal to me
It is sad that I have been betraying time
and yet time is my age
With time I have been unfaithful to God
With time I have neglected God, my CreatorI do feel sad
that time is very loyal to me
And yet, I do use time to be unfaithful to God
I am disloyal with my time whereas time is very loyal to me
I have contaminated my time with my own desires
It has always been each time, time is with me
Unsurprising that God has mentioned :
" By (the Token of) Time (through the ages), Verily Man is in loss, except those with faith, and do righteous deeds, and (join together) in the mutual affirmation towards the truth and patience"

He uses his companion to betray God
He uses his loyal companion to forget God, forget the Hereafter
I am one of those

O Allah, bestow me hidayah together with time, my loyal companion
So that I would not abuse my loyal companionIn order for my meet with
You is together with Your acceptance

About the Writer

Ash Shaykh Al Ustadh Ashaari Ibn Muhammad is a prolific writer. Since 1977 he has written over 70 books – more then 6 books on poetry and quotations, hundreds of thousands of prose, more than 5 titles on general lectures series and thirty over books on Islam ranging from Philosophical renditions and problem solving in the Islamic society. This is really astounding when we consider his other activities. He’s a Shaykh [religious leader] of an Islamic study group based in Malaysia but with students [Mureed] from all over the world.

He guides and instructs his students – requiring him to travel across the globe, and in the process meet renowned Muslim personalities world wide – Spiritual and religious leader, Scholars, political leaders, leaders of society, businessmen, Muslim intellectuals and the like. This is an almost never- ending process. He teaches students- both part time and full time students on all braches of Islamic knowledge, almost non-stop.

And in between such strenuous and diversified activities, , he manages to produce on the average, two books annually. His books, if we care to read are wholesome, forthright, practical and methodical approaches towards the understanding Islam in totality and its purity with implementation of Islamic tenets towards the formation of ideal Islamic Society and nation based on two sources; the Al Qur’an and the Prophetic Tradition.

If we follow his writings, without prejudice and malice, we will come to appreciate his simplistic yet practical methods in understanding and devising methods to abolish problem faced by Muslim Ummah [Community] and mankind at large.

Most importantly, the books portrays the feeling, believes, mentality and characterization of Ash Shaykh Al Ustadh Ashaari Ibn Muhammad and have become manifested in the activities of his students towards realization of Islamic resurgences in Malaysia and the world.

MISCONCEPTION

Muslims are violent, terrorists and/or extremists. This is the biggest misconception in Islam, no doubt resulting from the constant stereotyping and bashing the media gives Islam. When a gunman attacks a mosque in the name of Judaism, a Catholic IR guerrilla sets off a bomb in an urban area, or Serbian Orthodox militiamen rape and kill innocent Muslim civilians, these acts are not used to stereotype an entire faith. Never are these acts attributed to the religion of the perpetrators. Yet how many times have we heard the words 'Islamic, Muslim fundamentalist. etc.' linked with violence.

Politics in so called "Muslim countries" may or may not have any Islamic basis. Often dictators and politicians will use the name of Islam for their own purposes. One should remember to go to the source of Islam and separate what the true religion of Islam says from what is portrayed in the media. Islam literally means 'submission to God' and is derived from a root word meaning 'peace'. Islam may seem exotic or even extreme in the modern world. Perhaps this is because religion doesn't dominate everyday life in the West, whereas Islam is considered a 'way of life' for Muslims and they make no division between secular and sacred in their lives.

Like Christianity, Islam permits fighting in self-defense, in defense of religion, or on the part of those who have been expelled forcibly from their homes. It lays down strict rules of combat which include prohibitions against harming civilians and against destroying crops, trees and livestock. NOWHERE DOES ISLAM ENJOIN THE KILLING OF INNOCENTS.

The Quran says: "Fight in the cause of God against those who fight you, but do not transgress limits. God does not love transgressors." (Quran 2:190)

"If they seek peace, then seek you peace. And trust in God for He is the One that heareth and knoweth all things." (Quran 8:61)

War, therefore, is the last resort, and is subject to the rigorous conditions laid down by the sacred law. The term 'jihad' literally means 'struggle'. Muslims believe that there are two kinds of jihad. The other 'jihad' is the inner struggle of the soul which everyone wages against egotistic desires for the sake of attaining inner peace.

The Various Outlook Towards the Quran and Sunnah

Allah SWT, the Most Pure and the Most High, truly wants His servants to purify themselves with the truth contained in the Quran and the Sunnah (the way of the Prophet). Whoever is not serious in searching for this truth will certainly fail to obtain it as the truth is a secret hidden deep inside the treasury of Allah. Only His servants who truly love Him will get it and even then, only through serious and diligent effort. At a glance, if one can fluently recite the Quran and Hadith, we tend to say, “Surely this man abides by the Quran and Sunnah. Surely he does not oppose whatever he recites.” But in our experience, we see too many who speak of the Quran and Sunnah, but do not act in accordance to them. They are like a doctor who forbids smoking but he himself smokes.

The truth is that even those who say they abide by and refer to the Quran and the Sunnah, which are supreme, do not fully live by the contents of the Quran and Sunnah. This means not all who have knowledge of the Quran and Sunnah have the attitude and conduct as laid out by the Quran and Sunnah. In fact, what normally happens is too many of these people who have knowledge of the Quran and Sunnah deviate from the true path of this knowledge, which contain the rules of Allah. Why does this happen? It is none other than to make mankind realize that to be one who has “taqwa” (fear of Allah), which is the noblest status amongst mankind, is not easy. It does not suffice merely to enroll into a school of the Quran and Sunnah. Although by this way, one can become an expert on the Quran and Sunnah, it is not sufficient to make him one who has “taqwa”.

In order to achieve taqwa, the following must be done: -

1. We have to seek a teacher who practises the Quran and Sunnah. (In the time of the Prophet, he was the living Quran. In whatever he does daily, he abided and was guided by the Quran).

2. We have to seek a school that can educate us such that the more knowledge we get, the closer we are to Allah and the more we fear Him.

3. Learn from any teacher who appears to have put his life and death in the way of Allah in order to practise and uphold the Quran and the Sunnah in his daily life. Let it be known that whoever regards this matter as unimportant or trivial, these are the groups of people who will be placed into categories according to varying levels of attitudes towards the Quran and Sunnah.

It has been the phenomenon right up to now that various groups of people have various attitudes towards the Quran and Sunnah. From what I see, there are seven groups altogether. With the will of Allah, I will list out the groups for your guidance. Hopefully there is truth in it. The groups are as follows:

1. The group who learn and study the Quran and Sunnah so much so that they become experts in them. They believe in the Quran and Sunnah and they adopt them in their daily lives as a basis for their struggle and as reference in order to answer all questions. Their belief and character are in accordance to the Quran and Sunnah.

If we ask them for proof from the Quran and Sunnah for whatever they do or practise, they are able to present such proof. In fact they can give Quranic proof for every question posed to them. But this group is scarce at this end of time. To find them is like looking for a white crow or red sulphur. There is none. They can be called “extra ordinary people.” They are the people of Allah or people who have taqwa (fear of Allah) and people who are faithful and pious. Those who love this group truly love them, and those who hate this group truly hate them.

Many people hate this group especially scholars (ulamas) who are evil. They feel that these people challenge their status and position and indirectly too reveal their true colours and identity in that they (the ulamas) do not, and they really do not practise the way of life of the Quran and Sunnah.

2. Like the first group, the second group is serious in learning the Quran and Sunnah so much so that they become experts in them. They also believe in the Quran and Sunnah and they make them their references to answer all questions posed to them. They dare speak the truth although it hurts. They are similar to the first group except they do not have the strength to practise all the knowledge that they possess and believe.

They fail to practise fully the Islamic shariah (rules of Allah) in their lives and in their struggle. Their characters too are not as beautiful and as perfect as the true character in Islam. All this is due to the fact that they do not have sufficiently strong faith to fight against their nafs and lust. They do not persevere and are not diligent enough in fighting against their evil desires (nafs) while such desire is the arch enemy of man.

Allah Himself states this, which means, “Verily, desire and lust is always beckoning towards evil.” So, due to weak faith, this group always fail in the fight against their evil desires (nafs). They transgress the rules of Allah and at times they commit sins. But they realize and feel sad and they admit their weaknesses and sins.

This group is numerous than the first. They involve themselves in propagating the Islamic teaching and knowledge to society. With this good deed, hopefully they are safe in the world and the Hereafter. For them Allah says, which means, “Allah forgives whomever He wants and punishes whomever He wants.”

3. The third group also talks of the Quran and Sunnah. In fact, they do learn the Islamic knowledge in general. They also believe in Islam as the truth and as a place of reference. But these people have personal interests. Islam is not the priority in their lives. They are not interested in the Islamic way of life. The Islamic knowledge for them is only for mental exercise and not more than that. Because to them, if Islam is practised, it will not bring success in the world and is not beneficial or profitable.

In fact, to them, Islam, if practised, will bring them shame, will make them suffer from inferiority complex and will cause difficulty to them. But in areas and occasions where there is profit to be made or that can bring success without the element of shame and hardship, they will follow Islam. This group is made up of the people who use Islam for their worldly interests and purposes. They are not honest with the truth.

They are not sincere with Allah SWT. This group is unbecoming (fasiq) and unjust (zalim) to themselves. In the Hereafter, they will be punished in hell, although not forever. At this end of time, there are many who belong to this group.

4. The fourth group is people who do not believe in Islam. But they are interested to learn the Islamic knowledge because they love the knowledge so that they can use it for mental exercise or for other purposes but not as a doctrine or reference to be used in their daily lives. They will use the knowledge only if it is profitable or if it gives them any benefit. Otherwise, to them, the Quran and Hadith do not mean a thing. The Islamic status of this group is in doubt. These are the hypocrites (munafik). In truth, they are the enemies of Islam.

5. Muslims who read the Quran and Hadith but do not understand them. They claim to practise the Quran and Sunnah but they do not learn or study them intensively. Their practice is merely taken from the books of ulamas of the various sects (mazhab) that they follow. They think good of the ulamas of the various sects. They are confident that the ulamas or the sects that they follow and that which they use as a guide uses the Quran and Hadith as its basis and as its terms of reference.

They diligently practise the teachings of Islam that they learn from the various sects. If asked for proof that is used for their practice, they will quote the principles or views of the sects and the opinions of ulamas. They are not capable of bringing forth proof from the Quran or the Hadith. This group is known as the "Muqallidin" or people who follow (taqlid). In Islam, this group is allowed to follow (taqlid) only in matters of “fiqh” (the physical practice of Islam), for Islam views that it is not possible for everyone to fathom the knowledge of the Quran and Hadith to the level of “Mujtahid” (one who truly understands the Quran and is qualified to extract rules and laws from it), that is one who can stand on his own without depending on other people to understand the Quran and the Sunnah.

6. Muslims who hears of the Quran and Sunnah from afar, or who hears of the Quran and Hadith from public lectures (kuliyyah) or those who just follow the crowd. This group depend neither on ulamas nor on the Quran or Hadith. Nevertheless they still claim that the Islam they practise is taken from the Quran and the Hadith. Because they know that the source of Islamic teachings are from the Quran and Hadith; they feel sure that whatever is practised by the society must also be from the Quran and Hadith. This group is the majority and is the most numerous in this end of time.

They are Muslims by descent who practise Islam based purely on the traditions of their race. Their Islamic knowledge is too meagre. Even their individual obligatory responsibilities (fardh ain) are not completely fulfilled. Their practices are only emulations and they do not know why and from where it comes. They are the ignorant. They do not know why they carry out the practice that they do. They are categorized as “unbecoming” (fasiq), or “traitorous” (a’si). Without them realizing it, they can die as traitors or betrayers for their offence of not wanting to learn, to study and to seek knowledge.

7. Non-Muslims who love to study and learn the knowledge of the Quran and Hadith or the group known as the Western orientalists.

There are two possibilities why they like to do this: -

i)To make a comparison between Islam and other religions and ideologies.
ii)To destroy the Islamic teachings. They will change or discard and add or distort the facts and its explanations.

They hope to:

Confuse Muslims who are ignorant about Islam.
Put fear into non-Muslims so that they are afraid to adopt Islam as their religion.
This group consists partly of Christians, Jews and also some from amongst the freethinkers. They are the enemies of Islam. And the Quran itself mentions that: -“And never ever will the Jews and Christians accept you until you adopt their religion.”

Up till today, their evil efforts have borne results. Most Islamic theologians, intellectuals, thinkers and academicians who study in the West are influenced by them, while most non-Muslims at the same time, look upon Islam with disgust and scorn. In our own country too, this phenomenon can be clearly seen. We often see how the intellectuals of Islam talk about Islam using the Western tongue; whereas some of them are people with power, having high positions in politics, economy, education, religion and so on.These are the groups of people who have varying outlook towards the Quran and Hadith.

Among the Muslim themselves, there are six groups. Only two of these groups are good in their practices. The rest, which are the majority, do not display the character of the Quran and in fact are traitorous towards Islam. They use Islam for their own purposes and pretend that they are good Muslims. Although they can fluently recite the Quran and the Hadith, they are actually “wolves in sheep’s’ clothing.” They deceive people by using Islam.Their working papers are fantastic, complete with sound proofs and evidence based on the Quran and Sunnah. In addition, they can talk well making people believe they are practising theologians (ulamas who practice what they preach, ulama-ul-‘amilin), who practise Islam with their families, in their attitudes and behavior, in their social life, in their struggle as well as in their aspirations in life.

But when seen from a closer range, the reality of their lives are far from what they preach. They act differently from what they preach. They are double-faced. Countless people are deceived by them. Verily, in my observations, through my travels around the world, especially to countries where Muslims are the majority, I noticed that a number of these people who are experts in the Quran and Hadith, do not have the intention to practise and to propagate it. They are more inclined to seek worldly gains, glamour and to use the knowledge merely for the purpose of mental exercise. As a result, the people are enthralled by their knowledge but not to the extent of becoming their followers.

They do not have the strength to lead people towards Allah and the Prophet. This is because they are merely people of knowledge who have no followers and who do not practise Islam. They are not leaders who can lead people to struggle and to uphold the Quran and Sunnah, the knowledge of which they possess.I call upon all people not to be deceived and confused by anyone who talks about Islam but do not practise it. Know them at a closer range so that we are not enthralled for too long by them who do not do what they say.

Learn Islam from teachers who practise it so that we too can practise and propagate it. Avoid learning Islam from those who are dishonest towards the truth of this religion of Allah.May Allah always lead us towards the right path.

BEING MODEST IS NOT A DISGRACE

Many assume being humble and modest is disgraceful, in fact a weakness while self idolatory or arrogance considered as an honour, in fact a glory and strength. Actually, being modest or self abasement is an honour and a source of power while self admiration is undignified, in fact a weakness.

Many would be at ease and comfortable with a modest person, generating love and affection, unity and strength. Self worshipping or egotistical, many would despise and stay away from such a character.

Many would detest an arrogant person, no heartfelt feelings towards each other, causing disunity and loss of one of the sources of strength and power. Disunity among the nation of people is a weakness.

Thus the public view is in reverse. The source of weakness considered as strengthening factor, while the the strengthening factor is considered as a weakening factor.

Here, it would be understood that it is insufficient with a mere knowledge without any guidance. Knowledge is inadequate without an understanding and appreciation.Provide knowledge and understanding, more importantly fulfilment. All are considered as appreciation or realization of knowledge.Realization of knowledge would then make the knowledge beneficial in life.

BETWEEN TWO OPTIONS
14/01/2006

Ahead of us are two roads, a decision have to be made
One leading to Heaven, one leading to Hell
Both roads are well defined, no obscurity
We have to make our own options
The journey to Heaven is very demanding and burdensome, the road is dessiminated with thorns, pebbles and boobytraps
The journey to Hell is very comfortable as the road is laid with soft, tender carpet
Delicious food served at the foodstalls on both sides of the road
At a glance it`s already very tempting
And yet it has not been tasted, very delicious
Then greeted ceremoniously by beautiful ladies
Waving at us on our arrival
Accompanying us throughout the journey
However, there is no food provided on either side of the road to Heaven
Beautiful sweet ladies are nowhere to be seen
There is only thick forest on both left and right sides of the road
Nothing exciting and pleasant
Do remember, he has been forewarned
At the end of Hell is a deep ravine, eerie and torturous
Those passing through this road, is destined to fall into the dreadful ravine
We have been informed of what is there at the end of the road to Heaven
Beautiful and fascinating gardens, luxurious palace
Delicious and tasty foods
Beautiful ladies awaiting
Whoever chooses the road to Heaven, suffer first, enjoy later
Whoever chooses the road to Hell, enjoy first, suffer later
Choose either one
Both road are laid for us in our lives
Both roads, very well defined, no obscurityIt is up to us, we have to make our own choice

FEAR OF GOD

خوفُ اللهِ
07/01/2006

When God is not feared or when God is out of one's mind, one tends to lead his or her own way of life. What's important is one can live with ease, comfort, luxury and wealth and there seems to be no concern about honour and religion.
Religion and honour are precious in life, priceless, could not be exchanged with anything else. These must be upheld even if we are forced to give up our lives. This is the price of religion and honour only if we could understand and appreciate the value.

MANY DECLARE THEMSELVES AS MUSLIMS
02/01/2006

Many declare themselves as Muslims
They are offended when labelled as non-Muslims
But they disregard aspects of piety or faith
Syariat unconcerned, moral values sneered on
Displeased when Hereafter prioritised
Allah Taala gets mentioned more as a culture
Without any fear in the heart or godly devotionor
God gets mentioned as poignant word, habitual character
Preoccupied with progress, developments, and wealth
Nothing else are important
The fact is many of the successful and wealthy
Their domestic affairs in disarray
The family members disputing each other
Love and care, harmony almost non-existent at home
Unable to feel the contentment
Emptiness of the soul, the mind entangled
The side effects, easily irratable, easily offended, easily sulking
It appears that progress, developments, wealth
would not guaranty love and care
Luxury does not ensure harmonious family
With wealth, happiness is yet to be assured

DISUNITY
29/08/2005

It is the natural instict (fitrah) or the natural demeanour of mankind that every man, every tribe or every race desires unity and solidarity. No man or tribe or race likes disunity, especially if such disunity can lead to enmity and war.

Disunity leads to enmity and subsequently to war, hardship prevails to all parties. Subsistence is difficult to seek for, travelling is a worry as far as safety is concerned. Having a good night sleep is a luxury as one never know when one`s property would become the target of hard crime robbers and murderers. War survivors may be seriously handicapped and disabled, become unproductive in the nation`s progress and development.

Disunity which may lead to war, will result in man losing his freedom, living in fear and anxiety, be emotionally depressed and restless. The effects of disunity are atrocious and there are great risks that man will have to bear, the pain and destruction man have to endure will last for a few generations. Hence, disunity is truly the enemy of mankind, the reason why majority abhors and dislikes it.

Man’s innate desire is wanting to live in peace, for therein contains the secret of happiness and harmony that is longed for by all mankind regardless of their ethnic origins and race. The reason why everyone desires to unite and integrate.
